This is planning in the right direction; but focus should be on less conversation but more of action. Growing more food inside the UK is not going to meet the demand however, because people's dietary needs go beyond the borders. Or else, is the UK going to come up with some temperate bananas and pineapples soon? Is the UK agriculture going to cut GHG emissions by investing in more battery livestocking and greenhouse sic glasshouse farming like sister Holland? Is the UK going to continue insisting on EU regulation shape/size/colour of fresh produce just to fit in the EU market? Or else, is the general enthusiam with expiry dates and organically grown stuff going to continue overiding the commonsense of personal desire to save, conserve, reuse and recycle?

Food Security 2030 is not a bridge too far for those whose minds think beyond the persoanl comforts. Millions the world over have no refrigeration, yet, they can store in times of plenty to survive the times of scarcity- just the old wise ant in Proverbs 6: 6. Is mankind willing to learn from the humble ant?
